Festimed specialises in mobile event hospital provision

The main event hospital follows the traditional ‘Emergency Department’ structure with clearly segregated areas for Resus, Majors, Minors in addition to a Recovery Bay, waiting and reception areas. We have built a bespoke patient software system that we call Pebbles allowing for the whole process to be computerised from check in to discharge. The majority of the patients are treated on site and don’t require off site transfers, one of our aims is where possible and if appropriate for the patient to be discharged back to the festival without having an impact on the local statutory services. As an average, the percentage of patients that we send off site is 0.5-2% and this can assist with the forthcoming years’ licencing and also reduces the impact to the local statutory services (some can charge the promoter for an event attendees referral). The main event hospital is Consultant led with a specific focus on Emergency Care Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners for the UK market. There would be a wide range of fully qualified staff working within this post ranging including Consultants, Doctors, Practitioners, Nurses, Pharmacy staff, Health Care Attendants and clerical staff (depending on the event). We try to ensure that the location of any medical facility is appropriate and the exact location is decided between Festimed and the event organisers with various factor taken into consideration. We have a selection of Patient Advice Leaflets and depending on the reason for attendance we give this publications out to the patient so that should the need arise they have something to refer to after they have left us.

We incorporate a Medication & Drug Store which is situated in our reception area

For several years now at the UK events and festivals that have overnight camping we also
incorporate a Medication & Drug Store which is situated in our reception area. This is run by a
Pharmacy team and have found that this reduces the number of patients going through the
hospital system. This facility is fully stocked with the majority of medications you can buy from
your corner store and we price the products that way also. Due to this service charging the
public for these products we can therefore offer this service free of charge at most events.

Medical Posts

At the larger events and festivals or just at smaller events we also provide auxiliary medical posts

At the larger events and festivals or just at smaller events we also provide auxiliary medical
posts which can range from a medium sized post, casualty clearing post to a small first aid post
depending on the event, audience, etc. These posts are generally Nurse led but could be
Doctor / Practitioner led. They normally comprise of two major bays, three minor bays with a
small reception and waiting area but this is always event dependant.
